Aarne Anton founded American Primitive over 30 years ago as a dealer in folk art, objects of mystery and design, antique Americana, and contemporary Outsider Art. With one foot in the 19th c. and the other in 20th c. he has brought an artists inquisitive eye to collecting and discovering works of art in early American material culture. Aarne Anton is a local resident of Rockland County, near the colorful town of Haverstraw, is inspired to add to the mix of art & antiques at River Stone.

American Primitive Gallery is in NYC continues as his primary location in SOHO as a source for compelling art and antique folk art. In addition, American Primitive Art & Bases Inc. offers state of the art facilities for custom mounting of sculpture and objects for dealers, collectors, and museums. American
